Polka Dots

This week I decided to do polka-dot nails.

To create this look I used the following polishes;

Barry M - Gelly Hi-Shine 'Coconut'
Barry M - 'Diamond'
Boots No7 - Gel Finish 'Beach Blues'
China Glaze - 'Cosmic Dust'
China Glaze - 'Fairy Dust'

I stepped away from Barry M as my main colour for the first time in I don't know how long, and used the No7 Gel Finish which was given to me in a polish swap. I was so taken aback by the formula! It went on beautifully smoothly, was self-levelling and completely opaque in just 1 coat!! My art is created using 2 coast just because I was so surprised I wasn't ready to do the dotting quick enough!

In comparison, the Barry M 'Coconut' needs a good 2 coats to become opaque and is a little on the thin streaky side. I think it would apply better with a flat fat brush, but that is my personal preference of brush shape anyway.

As for China Glaze 'Cosmic Dust' (on my ring fingers), I found this formula streaky and thin as well. A second coat seemed to sort it out, but I think I need to try it with a third.

China Glaze 'Fairy Dust' is a holographic microglitter in a clear polish which I canNOT wait to use in more of my art! It's only just arrived but I just know it is going to add a little something extra and it's the type of polish I've been after for a Reeeaaally long time, so when I saw it there was no question over whether I was going to buy it or wait a while!

On to the art....

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a wonderful week.

  2. Loving it Hannah - and agree that the Boots No7 Gels are a real treat - go on really smoothly and easy to apply. x
